Haworth’s Bronte Moor

Description of the walk:
1. This walk starts in the main car park at top end of Haworth. From the car park, turn left up the cobbed lane, passing a Haworth Moor sign. This path becomes a paved field that leads to the Haworth-Stanbury road. Turn left and go along this road for about 100 yards. After 100 yards you will meet another road. Turn left on this road with sign of Penistone Hill. Continue straight ahead on this road to meet another road.
2. Cross over this road with care and go the track opposite. This track is signed to Bronte Way and Top Withins. Continue straight ahead on this path (no diversions) to reach the Bronte seat bridge. At Bronte seat bridge, cross the bridge and carry straight up to meet an three-way signpost.
3. Turn left at this sign post, sign-posted ‘Top Withins’. Follow this path up-hill taking no diversions to emerge at a beck. Cross over the beck by stepping stones and carry straight-ahead up hill to emerge a way marker signpost by a old ruined building.
4. Turn right at the sign-post for Stanbury and Haworth to follow this path down-hill. This path is the Pennine Way. Carry straight ahead on this path, as you follow this track down-hill (take no diversiosn) to emerge at a white farmhouse
5. Continue straight ahead passing a white farmhouse and then turn left at folk in the paths. Continue to reach another building, Lower Heights Farm. Pass by this farm for another 500 yards to arrive another folk of paths to chose. Here take the left-hand folk and continue straight-ahead down the path, sign-posted ‘Stanbury and Haworth.’ Continue along this path track to meet a road.
6. Turn right along the road to go through Stanbury. Turn right on road to Oxenhope. Continue straight ahead, go over the dam of Lower Laithe Reservoir dam. When you emerge at the far-end of the reservoir dam, turn left on a road. Follow this road up hill to meet another road by Haworth cemetery.
7. Turn left down the road and continue down the road into Haworth. This is where the walk finishes and concludes.
